Join Our Team
Senior Marketing Automation Specialist
Job Description
Do you love turning marketing automation into a real growth engine?
Do you love building outbound marketing systems that turn prospect data into real sales conversations—and fixing the ones that aren’t performing?
Do you want to lead automation strategy (and a growing team) for an award-winning marketing company, as part of a team of incredibly talented (and genuinely nice) people?
Yes? Then we should talk!
Haley Marketing is looking for a Senior Marketing Automation Specialist to join our team.
In this role, you’ll work across the entire outbound funnel, from ICP development and prospect data to campaign creation, automation, deliverability, response management and ongoing optimization. You will:
- Own outbound marketing automation for 15+ clients
- Help staffing and recruiting companies identify the right prospects
- Build and segment target audiences
- Develop campaign strategies and messaging
- Configure automated outreach
- Optimize campaigns to generate qualified conversations.
As a leader on our automation team, you’ll also have the opportunity to:
- Manage automation service direction and decide how the team responds when a platform or deliverability landscape shifts.
- Set the strategy and quality standards for how automation gets delivered across every account.
- Train and develop other automation specialists.
- Serve as the go-to expert on tools like Lemlist and Apollo.io.
- Work directly with our leadership to help shape the future of our automation services—including RogIQ, our own AI marketing platform.
So, why Haley Marketing?
- 30-year track record of success.
- Mission-focused. We exist to make world-class marketing fast, easy, and affordable for clients.
- Remote first culture. You can work (just about) anywhere!
- Lots of challenge. And opportunities to learn.
- We support companies in the staffing industry. Your work will make a real impact, helping thousands of people find great jobs.
So, why not Haley Marketing?
We’re extremely proud of our organization, but we’re not the right fit for everyone. You might not like working for us if:
- You don’t like AI and automation. We believe in using technology to improve quality and get things done faster.
- You’re not comfortable with change. We adapt and evolve all the time. “Find a better way” is one of our core values.
- You don’t like to solve problems. We expect people to “figure it out” when faced with a challenge (they can and should get help from their teammates, of course!).
- You are not a self-starter. As a remote company, we need people who achieve their goals…without someone looking over their shoulder.
- You don’t like talking with clients. Building relationships is important to our success. We need people who genuinely care about ensuring their clients’ success.
- You don’t want to lead. This role means training other automation specialists, setting the standard for how automation gets delivered, and being the person the team turns to when something’s on fire.

Job Requirements
Key responsibilities:
- Directly manage a book of 15+ marketing automation clients — reviewing weekly open, reply, and bounce rates, A/B testing subject lines, CTAs, and send timing, and reworking sequence steps that underperform.
- Lead new client onboarding, from kickoff meetings through building outbound sequences, configuring lead lists, and setting up sending domains and mailbox warmup.
- Diagnose and resolve deliverability and platform issues (spam placement, bounce spikes, domain/DNS authentication), escalating to vendor support when needed.
- Train and develop other automation specialists — onboarding them to our Lemlist and Apollo.io workflows and maintaining internal training materials and SOPs.
- Set the strategy and quality standards for how automation services are delivered across every account, and serve as the escalation point for complex or high-stakes issues.
- Consult with leadership on automation product improvements — including RogIQ — and surface client feedback that shapes our roadmap.
- Support Haley Marketing’s own sales team with light automation upkeep and ad hoc requests.
- Lead monthly client meetings, presenting campaign performance and recommendations for improvement.
- Deliver strong results: client retention above 90% and an NPS above 60.
What we require:
- EXPERIENCE: 3-5 years of email marketing and/or marketing automation experience, with hands-on work in HubSpot, ActiveCampaign, or an equivalent platform (required).
- SELF-DIRECTION: Proven ability to work independently and take initiative without someone looking over your shoulder.
- DATA-CENTRIC: Comfortable digging into performance data to guide decisions and drive improvement.
- CLIENT MANAGEMENT: Ability to build trust and effectively manage a large client book.
- ORGANIZATION: Highly organized, with strong attention to detail and solid project management skills.
- COMMUNICATION: Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- LEADERSHIP: Experience training, mentoring, or leading other team members.
- OWNERSHIP: A track record of building a playbook, SOP, or process that other people were held accountable to and owning the outcome when it worked or didn't.
BONUS CREDIT!
Experience with SENSE or Bullhorn Automation, and familiarity with RogIQ or other AI-driven marketing automation tools.
